Maren Williams

Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas.  My passion for helping others and an interest in human behaviors led me to the field of Psychology.  In 2000, I left Texas to pursue my degree at the University of Vermont.  Upon receiving my BA in Psychology, in 2004, I was accepted to graduate school at Texas State University.  During my time at Texas State, I interned at YWCA in Austin providing Crisis Counseling to individuals and families in the community.  In 2007, I received my Masters in Professional Counseling.

During my career as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have worked at Hope Alliance dba Williamson County Crisis Center providing counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and family settings.

In 2010, I was employed at the Phoenix House of Austin in their Adolescent Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program.  From 2012-2014, I was a contract therapist providing counseling services and parent coaching for individuals and families impacted by trauma and addiction.  Most recently, I provided individual and group counseling at The University of Texas Counseling and Mental Health Center.

Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with individuals, couples, and families that have been impacted by trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, loss and grief, family violence, relationship concerns, identity concerns, and behavioral issues.

I am passionate about the work I do and the relationships that are developed along the way. Inevitably, we are all impacted by life's trials and tribulations, but going through it alone can feel insurmountable.
